Head of School Welcome

Dear Students, Parents, and Friends of CHCA,

As Chapel Hill Christian Academy’s Head of School, I would like to welcome you to our website and thank you for your interest in our school.

Chapel Hill’s calling is to be a school that partners with families in the teaching of their children by providing an education that is distinctively Christian, academically excellent, Biblically saturated and service and mission oriented. CHCA is an interdenominational Christian school located in Clarksville, Tennessee.

The story of how this school came to be is a story of God’s love and faithfulness. In 2019, God began to stir the idea of a different kind of place for students and families to partner together in education in my heart. A school that is faith based and Spirit filled- one where students can receive an incredible education to prepare them for their future, as well as partner with families to build the foundation and nurture a relationship with Jesus Christ. Plain and simple, God showed me the need for a school where children can fall in love with Jesus. I began to take steps in researching and learning more about planting an independent school, spent intentional time in prayer to learn more about His vision and plan, and took big leaps of faith in trusting that this was exactly what He was calling me to do for our city. Clarksville holds a special place in my heart; being born and raised here, it is an honor to be able to give back to our community and invest in the lives of our children and families here. I am so grateful to have this opportunity and feel so much love and awe that God would allow my family and I to be a part of this school

“Out of all that we know, may we know God himself the best. Out of all the knowledge and wisdom we gain from Scripture, may our highest pursuit be a true, intimate, knowledge of its Author.

Out of all the earth-shattering works set before us, may we know the God whom we serve.

And at the end of our days, may our lives be chiefly marked by a true, passionate, intimate relationship with our heavenly Father.”

As we look ahead towards the 25-26 school year, we are eagerly expectant at the work God will continue to do through Chapel Hill. We opened our doors in August of 2020 with 120 students, in the middle of a pandemic. Our school has more than tripled since then and we are looking at the opportunity to welcome new students to Chapel Hill through the upcoming Admissions season. We believe God called CHCA for "such a time as this " to meet the needs and desires of families in our community. As we are planning for Chapel Hill's 6th year, we are excited about the addition of HIGH SCHOOL with tenth grade, continuing to make progress towards the vision to become PK-12th grade! We are also looking forward to the growth in our Hybrid Homeschool Program with the addition of Level 5. CHCA is growing more than we could have ever imagined!

You might be wondering how the name of this school came to be?

The name for Chapel Hill Christian Academy has a special meaning behind it- one that sets the foundation for how our school operates and what, rather who, we focus on each day.

Chapel- The meaning behind this word is the priority we will set on meeting with God each day. Chapel at our school will be a time to come together to praise and worship our Father, to pray with one another, and to learn who Jesus is, centering our day around Him.

Hill- This word comes from Scripture, Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” I see this school as a place where we are preparing and growing disciples who will change the world around them. Not a bubble or a place to hide, but a place that prepares our children with the tools they need. My prayer is that our students, faculty, and staff can be “a city on a hill”, allowing His light to shine through us and illuminate a path to God’s heart for those around us.

We are leading the next generation of police officers, doctors, missionaries, teachers, pastors, and business owners. Our dream is to see our oldest students graduating from CHCA in 2028. It is our desire to train them up both academically and spiritually, so that we may send them out to love and serve their city and beyond.

We are so excited your family is interested in learning more about becoming a part of our Chapel Hill Family. I pray this all helps you determine if God has called you to be a part of our school family. It would be an honor for CHCA to partner with your family.

With a Grateful Heart,

Sara Halliburton Hendrix

Founder and Head of School
